Energy Services
Energy Certificates
There are two types of energy certification which we can provide:
Display Energy Certificate (DEC), required for all public buildings and those occupied by public authorities which have a total floor area greater than 1000m2 and provide a public service to a number of people and therefore frequently visited by those people. The certificate will show actual energy usage of a building.
Energy Performance Certificate (EPC), is required for all commercial buildings that are built sold or rented.
The EPC has two parts- graphic rating and a recommendations report. The rating is calculated on the performance of the building and its services (such as heating, lighting, air conditioning). The recommendations report suggests cost effective energy saving measures, along with an indicator of the potential rating if the measures are carried out.
We can provide basic, low cost, energy certification, or a higher quality service can include:
A full survey of your building , may reveal simple, low cost measures which will make a significant impact on your energy use. This might include the use of thermal imaging to identify areas of heat loss and air leakage.
A detailed examination of systems components , would look at plant efficiencies and system operation, to identify cost effective measures for reducing energy use.
A customised advisory report, will offer a list of ways in which you could make your building more energy efficient based on generalised payback time information. Full costing information will be invaluable in making informed decisions on the implementation of saving measures.
A full implementation plan, to bring about the delivery of the saving measures, using Hot Spot Thermographics experience of working with specialist contractors.
